A Passion for Young Minds

Dr. Crystal Bullard is board-certified as a child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist. She graduated from the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University, then completed her residency in general (adult) psychiatry and a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of South Carolina/Prisma Health.

While in medical school, Dr. Bullard recognized that poor mental health negatively impacts every area of a person's life — their physical health, family and social relationships, and occupation. As the daughter of public school teachers who devoted their lives to educating and mentoring children, she always knew she wanted to work with young people.

It became evident to her that providing mental health treatment in the early years improves a child's ability to function well at home, in school, and in the community — and leads to long-term positive changes in their adult lives.

Dr. Bullard began her career at Atrium Health in Charlotte, NC, where she practiced for over ten years in the outpatient clinic providing psychiatric evaluations and medication management. She also worked at Levine Children's Hospital, the Behavioral Health Charlotte Partial Hospitalization Program, and the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry inpatient unit.

She served as teaching faculty for Wake Forest School of Medicine and the Atrium Health General Psychiatry Residency Program, providing clinical supervision for psychiatry residents and teaching annual lectures on Autism Spectrum Disorders.

In January 2024, Dr. Bullard opened Hope Restored Psychiatry to provide individualized psychiatric evaluations and medication management. She is currently accepting new patients — children, teenagers, and young adults.

In her free time, Dr. Bullard spends most of her time with her husband and two children.
